Hi, I’m Mel

I love coffee, kettlebells, music, cold water dipping, fresh air, mornings, beautiful journals and fancy pens…  and sunshine!

As a fitness professional, I’m the outlier in a family of musicians. Husband Jamie - professional saxophonist, daughter Jasmine - singer/songwriter and son Sonny - Drum & Bass producer and DJ. Oh… and of course there’s Queenie, our Romanian rescue Golden Retriever.

I came to fitness late in life after a very difficult mental health crisis and it all started with running.

Running became my new obsession, followed by triathlons and I’ve completed somewhere in the region of 20+ events (it was an obsession for a while!)

My love of running led me to co-found an award winning local running group with my best friend Sameera. Dynamos Run Club helped over 400 women run their first 5k. The transformations we saw with these women is still one of my proudest achievements.

I trained as a personal trainer in 2014 and found my love of strength training and kettlebells when I had the opportunity to work with and learn from James St Pierre at Unique Results in Chelmsford. My ethos and values as a coach were crafted under James’ excellent mentoring and to this day, I hold true to those values of meeting each client where they are on their journey.

My Approach

I am a midlife, ADHD diagnosed woman, and I’ve faced  many of the challenges that a woman like you may be facing. Keeping myself fit, strong and healthy is a constant work in progress and I coach with empathy and authentic lived experience of how challenging it can be to navigate the world of health, fitness and the onslaught of confusing information on social media.

I integrate strength and nutrition with lifestyle and habit coaching. I believe each area has an impact on the other, and looking at the whole picture of my client’s life allows me to personalise their journey, making sure my coaching works in their world.

I don’t believe in quick fixes. Real, lasting change happens with 100s of tweaks along the way, so I encourage a “settle in and enjoy the ride” approach.

Coaching is a partnership - I provide the structure, guidance and expertise; you bring commitment, honesty and a willingness to do the work.
